About BIFF

The story of the Bermuda International Film Festival is one of steady growth and development. Identifying a passion for independent art house films in Bermuda, we launched the festival in 1997, screening 22 films in two theatres over seven days.

Today, we screen between 65 and 75 films and have been recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a Qualifying Festival for the Short Film Category of the Academy Award.

In addition to our March festival of international cinema, we present programmes of the BIFF Film Academy. These include school screenings for students from Pre-K to high school in October and March, as well as eight weeks of film production summer camps for kids ages 7-16 and filmmaking labs for high school students and adults.

We also present BIFFlixs, monthly film screenings for independent film fans.
